Hi How Are You Project
Kiwi Diamond & Shaman Modifications are honored to present the licensed Hi How Are You jewelry line, created in tribute to the late Daniel Johnston—beloved singer, songwriter, artist, and mental health advocate who passed away in 2019.
In collaboration with the Hi How Are You Project foundation and Pineapple Tangeroa, founder of Shaman Modifications, this collection captures the spirit of Daniel’s original artwork. Shaman Modifications spearheaded this initiative as a not-for-profit effort, raising significant funds to support mental health awareness. We extend our deepest gratitude to Shaman for their extraordinary contribution to this vital cause.
For its first year, the Hi How Are You line was exclusively available at Shaman’s three studio locations. Starting Hi How Are You Day, January 24, 2025, we are thrilled to offer this collection to all Kiwi Diamond customers to continue raising funds and awareness for the foundation.
By selling this line in your studio, you join in both the Foundation and Shaman Modifications’ mission—encouraging meaningful conversations about mental health. Asking “Hi, how are you?” is a small but powerful way to connect with those around you.
While donations are not obligated, they are highly encouraged. Kiwi Diamond proudly donates a portion of each sale to support the Hi How Are You Project.
Daniel Johnston
Daniel Johnston (1961–2019) was an American singer-songwriter, visual artist, and cult icon whose work resonated with themes of mental health, love, and existential longing.
His art, often featuring his signature "Jeremiah the Innocent" frog, has appeared on murals, album covers, and merchandise. Johnston's work is celebrated for its sincerity, emotional depth, and unfiltered creativity, influencing artists across music and visual mediums.
The Hi, How Are You Project, named after his renowned album, was established to honor Johnston's legacy and promote mental health awareness through art, music, and open dialogue.
